There
is nothing like a tented wedding/reception in your
own backyard to provide the ultimately unique
wedding experience. And, there is nothing like
working with a professional rental company to make
the dream of that wedding a reality. Following are
some tips to help you decide whether a tented
wedding/reception would work for you and to help you
plan it (if you are a real "hands-on"
person). Please remember though, that our
experienced planners can take you through all
aspects of this planning exercise (and save you a
lot of work!). |

Location: You may be
fortunate enough to have space to host your wedding
in your own yard, but if you don't, you might
consider asking a friend or relative who has the
space to help you out. Although they involve a bit
more challenge and expense, some parks are amenable
to weddings. In any event, we are happy to perform a
site survey to ascertain the suitability of your
potential site. |

Size: The
size of the space required is dependant on the size
tent necessary to accommodate all of your guests and
any amenities that will be covered by the tent. We
use computer aided design (CAD) software to assist
us in this process and create drawings of the final
tent layout for our customers to show them how
everything will fit and look. General rules of thumb
that you can use to get an idea of space
requirements are:
Ceremony
with row seating- 8 square feet per person
Cocktail parties- 10
square feet per person
Dining- 15 square
feet per person

Appearance:
We offer 2 styles of
tents, pole and frame, each with its own advantages
and disadvantages.
Pole tents offer
peaks and more of a traditional wedding appearance
but have
the disadvantage of having poles inside the tent,
which can create obstructions and line-of-sight
issues. These are available in 40 and 60 foot
widths.

Frame
tents have a very clean appearance with
straight lines and the advantage of being completely
open underneath with all poles being on the
perimeter of the tent. These are available in 10,
20, 30 and 40 foot widths. (Photo: Frame tent with optional Ceiling Liner) |

Wedding,
Reception or both: You
have the option of performing the ceremony, the
reception or both under a tent. Depending on your
site, you may be able to do everything right
there.

|
Buffet or seated dinner: If
you elect to host the reception under a tent, your
rental requirements and space for a served dinner
will differ significantly from one that is buffet
style, so you will need to decide on one or the
other to accurately determine your costs. |
